The traditional shop "Cellar" is located in the main alleyway of the Castle of Monemvasia, just 50 meters from its gate! It is the oldest shop of local products in the castle.

Here you can taste the local wines, the homemade almond cookies and the samousades (the Spartan version of baklava, rustic pie with layers of nuts, chopped almonds and sesame and many spices, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg), honey wine, tsipouro (greek traditional distilled liquor) and a great variety of other local delicacies.

The famous wine "MALVASIA", which was born in Monemvasia and has now gained worldwide fame, is available to any visitor to taste and take with him in his return trip, after the end of his stay in Monemvasia. At the "Cellar" you will find more than 40 labels of local wine waiting for you to taste it and decide which best suits your culinary preferences!
